Ventilation Mount Assembly

Although specially designed for the Parkonect 7TST tower, this design can be implemented in a variety of products.  The mount includes a 35mm blower fan and custom developed humidity and temperature sensor module that controls when the fan activates. It mounts using 4-40 PEM standoffs pressed into the cabinet; a slightly modified version can use VHB type tape.

I was careful to design so that no supporting material is needed during the print. The PCB board securely slides into a rail system the firmly holds it in place; when mounted in the Parkonect 7TST enclosure the open end of the rail is against the cabinet wall making it impossible to remove PCB without removing the entire assembly. Thread forming screws are used to secure the blower to the mount body.

Cable trace cutouts were made both on the mount and the PCB to ensure the fan power cables do not get pinched when the assembly is secured to the cabinet.

The air outlet is carefully designed to reduce air restriction and back pressure. Slightly fillet outer edges allow the assembly to fit flush within the bend radius of the 7TST cabinets.

This component is now standard equipment for the Parkonect touch screen tower product line.
